4 months old!

Today was Madeline's 4 month checkup with Dr. Crow.  Here are her stats:

Weight:  13 pounds 2 ounces - 45th percentile
Height:  24.5 inches long - 55th percentile
Head:  16 inches - 49th percentile

At Madeline's 2 month checkup, she was 10th percentile all around, so she is definitely growing and getting chubbier.  She seemed to enjoy all the poking and prodding even though she was really tired.   We do have homework, though.  Madeline isn't rolling over, so that means more tummy time or more quality tummy time.  Madeline only lasts on her tummy for about 5 minutes.  Dr. Crow suggested putting a mirror in front of her.  Any other suggestions?

I survived the vaccinations :)  She was all giggly and smiley and then she got pricked...such a sad and shocked face!  Poor girl.  After some cuddling, she conked out for long nap and seems to be feeling ok.

Madeline has enriched our lives.  She is such a sweetie and so much fun.  Matt just said the other day, "I can't imagine life without Madeline."  She definitely is a big part of our life. You hear that motherhood is rewarding but you just can't describe the happiness.

  1. She is SO cute. We have to see you soon, she is just growing up to fast. Her hair looks red in those pictures! Is her hair changing? She really is darling. About the rolling over, I would not worry AT ALL. My kids always tend to be "late" in the large motor skills like rolling, crawling, walking. With Tyler especially I was pretty obsessive about it and worrying, but it didn't change a darn thing. They do it when they are ready no matter how much prodding I did! Glad you are enjoying motherhood- it is the best! We will see you soon!

  3. Yeah, I don't know why her hair looks red. It looks like that sometimes in the sun too. I'm pretty sure it's brown and her eyes aren't really blue anymore - more like browinsh gray! She changes so much it's hard to tell!

  5. Wow, she is adorable! I wouldn't worry about the rolling over either. Summer of course didn't roll over until the day after we got her at 6 1/2 months, and now at 10 months she acts like she's ready to walk. I think you are a great mom too. I love how you love her and how intent you are on doing everything you can for her.

  6. She is super cute. Nice big smile. Love it.
About the rolling over - I read somewhere that some kids just never develop that skill, others don't crawl at all... and apparently there is nothing wrong with them. Aspen is half way there and she is almost 5 months. I am not worried at all. Once again Madeline is very adorable

    Cuteness -- 117th percentile

    Not that I am biased.

  8. Yay! Getting bigger! And sooooo beautiful! But now you have me all anxious about Brianna's 4 month appt coming up next month... I feel like I need to have her rolling over by then. Then again, if she can roll over, she'll probably see the needles comin at her and freak out and roll off the table. Immobility has it's advantages...

  10. So cute! Man I just can't get over it. And yes, tummy time is a pain. I don't have any suggestions, but I do have a friend whose daughter never learned to roll over, but she walks and all of that now. So maybe she'll just skip that step.
