An inspiring Blog

I don't think I know anyone who has a bigger heart than my sister. She just started a blog that I believe will change hearts and lives. In her words, "I want to be inspired by people who do things because their heart tells them to. So selfishly I will begin this blog and hope to discover and be inspired by all of you."

Thanks for always sharing beautiful thoughts, Jess. The world needs more of that.

An Interview with Madeline

My sister interviews her kids each year.

Here is my attempt with Madeline at age 2:

Madeline is really into music right now, especially Disney songs. She also loves Primary Songs. She is starting to memorize the words and sing them to herself. She also is pretty good at lip -synching even when she doesn't know the words at all!

She also loves books. She gets so excited to go to the library. Some of her favorites are the Madeline books, Burt Dow the Deepwater Man,Fancy Nancy, and the Berenstain Bears. When you read to her she likes to fill in the words that she remembers from the pages.

She has gotten the whole independent thing down. She insists on doing things herself and if you do it before her, she loses it.

If she is throwing a fit, I'll say "you're being like Grumpy" (the dwarf from Snow White) and she gets really upset and says, "No! I Madeline Weed Marie!!!" That usually snaps her out of it since Madeline Marie Weed has been described as a nice, sweet girl.

Love this girl....

Being a Mom not alway easy, but I feel so privileged to be a mother. It has been a far sweeter experience than I imagined and the amount of love I have felt is hard to contain. Thank you, Matt for letting me stay home with Madeline. and Thank you to my Mom, Mother-in-law, and sisters for providing beautiful examples of great mothers.

“Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind” (in James R. Clark, comp., Messages of the First Presidency, 6 vols., Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1965–75, 6:178)

Happy Mother's Day!

I know a lot of you have already seen this, but I thought it deserved a post. This video is so inspirational and it gave me a special perspective on life as a woman and a mother.
