31 Weeks and Counting

I had my 31 week appointment yesterday. Everything looks the same, so we're doing good. The doctor said 5 more weeks and we'll be in good shape. Bed rest is a loose term. I'm trying to take it easy and be aware if I'm overdoing it or having contractions. It's a little hard to stay down with a two year old, but Madeline is pretty good about reading and playing with me on the couch.

Pregnancy the second time around has been filled with more aches and pains, a bigger belly (and baby!) and hard-to-sleep nights, but it's completely worth it. I'm grateful for this little guy growing inside of me and can't wait to meet him...full term of course :)

Matt is done with the ICU night shift. Yay! He's now doing surgery. We'll see how that goes. I'm amazed at the stuff he's doing. It's just weird to think they let him treat real people :) But he's working hard, learning a lot and doing a great job.

I hope all of your summers are going well!

Matt as a New Intern

Matt has been having some very interesting and character building experiences on his night shift at the ICU as a new intern. He started a blog dedicated to these experiences. I hardly get to see him or talk to him because of his crazy schedule right now, so it's fun and nerve-wracking for me to hear about what he's up to. If you're interested, check it out...

Happy 4th!

We celebrated the holiday on Saturday up at my parents' lake property. It was nice to see family, eat good food and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I spent most of the time planted in a beach chair, but it was still nice to get out.

Madeline must be branching out a little, because she enjoyed a lot of fun water activities with Matt.

I was very surprised Madeline was brave enough to go for a tube ride (a SLOW ride), but she said she had fun.

Proof that I was there... I know what you're thinking "Aren't you supposed to be on bed rest?" Not strict bed rest, so I'm allowed to stand up and take pictures occasionally!

Thanks, Mom and Dad for sharing your beautiful place.

*Pregnancy update -

I had a 29 week appointment today and no changes! Hooray! I think I was more nervous sitting in the doctor's office than any time I have ever performed on stage. I have another appt in two weeks and hopefully everything is quiet then, too. Thanks for all the prayers and support.
