Another Wreath!

Ok, so Cassi and I might really be addicted to wreaths. But when you can make them for under $10, why not?!

I spotted THIS one made out of acorns. But, it's the wrong season and I don't know where to find the acorns without the hats on them, so then I found THIS ONE made out of lima beans.

I really like the texture of it. We weren't sure if the beans looked a little too much like, well, beans, but it's growing on me. Here are things we learned if you want to make one:

1. Spray paint the wreath the color you are going to do BEFORE you put the beans on. On mine, you can still see the white styrofoam underneath.
2. Try not to be too messy with the hot glue gun. All those little strings show up when spray painted. I tried to get all of mine off but it's nearly impossible.

It was fun and easy and now I have a lovely spring wreath. (Also, I can just paint it another color if I get bored with it :) )

Madeline's 3 Year Interview

I want to keep doing yearly interviews. I need to just start doing it around birthdays so I don't forget. Here is Madeline's two year interview. I know a year has passed, but I'm amazed at how she has changed.

Age 3:

This is just proof that Madeline actually talks. I'm pretty sure everyone thinks she doesn't because she is very shy in public.

As you can see, she's a little jokester and thinks she's pretty funny. Most of the time she's a good, sweet girl. She begs to help, likes things neat and in their place, sings songs all day long, and takes very good care of her little brother. She loves to play "house" and "restaurant" and "tea" with her stuffed animals and dolls. Once in a while she can throw a royal fit (just yesterday in fact). She can be very stubborn! Matt says she gets that from me. Really? :)

Box of Chocolates.

Madeline is like a box of never know what you'll get..

Is she girly or what?

Madeline comes out of her room each morning already dressed. Lately, she has loved experimenting with layering and has come up with some crazy combinations! She changes her clothes at least three times a day, which means clothes can be everywhere. But I decided if we're not going out in public, why not? She doesn't have control over much, so why not let her get creative with her clothes? This is the result:

Yes those are bermuda shorts over corduroy pants...

In that last picture she has 6 shirts on!! I had to intervene since I didn't want her passing out because she was too hot.

Oh Madeline...we love you :)
